BEST TIME TO VISIT PITTSBURGH

Pittsburgh weather is very similar to that of New York and Philadelphia, but the number of humid days is higher. The weather is changeable, with moderate to high precipitation all year long, with heat waves in the summer and cool weather in the winter and early spring. Snow is concentrated in winter months (it snows more in Pittsburgh than in Philadelphia).

Late-spring - May, June – or late-summer and early-fall – September, October – are excellent months for visiting Pittsburgh.

WHEN NOT TO GO TO PITTSBURGH

Avoid the winter months, as temperatures may reach low levels.

Humidity and high temperatures may turn some July and August days uncomfortable, despite the moderating influence of the Lake Erie in Pittsburgh region.

See the Pittsburgh Weather Table, below, for details.
