BEST TIME TO TRAVEL TO NORTHERN FLORIDA (NORTH OF ORLANDO AND WALT DISNEY WORLD)

This part of Florida has a temperate-hot climate. And that means:

- Summer (May - September) is the most popular period.

- Summer is a crowded period, and accommodation costs attains high levels in this period.

- Winter (December-April) is the off-peak period in northern Florida, and there are some cold days, though temperatures are normally very agreeable.

- June to October is the hurricane period, but US National Weather Service tracks carefully these storms and gives ample warning if there is any need to evacuate.

-
It rains less in winter than in summer, but showers tend to be short; vacations aren't deeply affected by them. See Florida Weather Tables.

- If you want to consider accommodation prices, than April to May («Florida's Spring») and September to November («Florida's Autumn») are excellent periods to visit Northern Florida (Autumn is a particularly good period in terms of temperatures and precipitation). Spring and Autumn have very pleasant weather and since they are off-peak periods, hotel rates are much lower than during the high seasons.

- Especially packed days, weeks and weekends: Presidents' Day weekend (February), Easter week, Memorial Day weekend (end of May), the Fourth of July, Labour Day weekend (September), Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's.

BEST TIME TO TRAVEL TO SOUTHERN FLORIDA (ORLANDO AND SOUTH)

This part of Florida has a sub-tropical climate. And that means:

- Winter (December-April) is the most popular period. Summer (June - October) tends to be the off-peak period. Big crowds came in Winter, and accommodation costs attains high levels in this period.

- June to October is the hurricane period
, but US National Weather Service tracks carefully these storms and gives ample warning if there is any need to evacuate. Afternoon thunderstorms are very often in Summer.

- Many inland areas are rather hot in Summer, but coastal areas benefit of sea breezes.

-

WHEN NOT TO GO TO FLORIDA

If you may want to avoid the hurricane season, then do not go to Florida from June to October

If you want to avoid big throngs, avoid the Summer period (June - September) in Northern Florida and the Winter period (December-March) in Southern places. Avoid also specially popular periods:
Presidents' Day weekend (February), Easter week, Memorial Day weekend (end of May), the Fourth of July, Labour Day weekend (September), Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's.

If you want to avoid high accommodation prices, then bet in April and May (Florida's Spring) or September, October and November (Florida's Autumn).
