BEST TIME TO VISIT ILLINOIS
Illinois' weather is very extreme, very hot summers and severe winters, are very common.
Illinois' winters are severe, with intense rainfalls and snowfalls - good news for visitors who enjoy ski and winter sports, but also a reason to avoid the winter, for other people.
If you privilege warm and sunny days, early and mid Autumn is the best time to visit Illinois.
Spring, or late Fall (or even Winter) are good times to enjoy indoor activities (and Chicago has plenty...) and benefit from lower accommodation rates and fewer crowds.
As for Summer, this is the most popular period, in spite of the occasional humidity and high temperatures. Most of the events and animation in Chicago and Illinois happen during Summer.
WHEN NOT TO GO TO ILLINOIS
Do not go to Illinois in Winterand early Spring, if you don't intend to enjoy winter sports and dislike intense chilly weather, snow and heavy precipitation.
You may also want to avoid July and August if you mainly want to enjoy indoor activities, cheap accommodation and fewer crowds.
