WHAT TO VISIT
Devils Tower Monument, in the northeastern corner of Wyoming, is a national icon since Spielberg's Close Encounters of the Third Kind made it known worldwide.
The Big Horn Mountains offers a large set of recreational opportunities: hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, mountain biking, sightseeing, skiing...
Wyoming Bighorn Canyon Recreation Area is excellent for boat tours, swimming and watersports in general.
Medicine Mountain - fifty miles west of Sheridan - offers spectacular viewings and the Medicine Wheel: a set of flat stones in a circular wheel, suggesting ancient Native American sun-worship.
Buffalo, in the southeastern foothills of Bighorn Mountains, near the I-90//-25 intersection, is a scenic little town closely linked to ancient old west.
Cody, in the US-14, is another major example of an Old West Town, exploring the "Buffalo Bill" Cody legacy. Buffalo Bill Historical Center and several other museumsalso have other more common entertainment and shopping opportunities.

Summer and the months close to it are the best time to visit Bighorn Mountains, Devils Tower, Cody and the other travel attractions in Wyoming north-east.
Most events take place in the summer and visiting sites such as the Devils Tower National Monument are very weather-dependent in the mid-September to mid-June period.
WHEN NOT TO GO TO THE BIGHORN MOUNTAINS, CODY AND DEVILS TOWER
Unless you are interested in skiing in any Bighorn Mountain resort, winter isn't definitely a good time to visit the region. Even mid-late Autumn and early-mid spring are too unpredictable.
