WHAT TO VISIT IN MADISON, BARABOO AND SPRING GREEN, WISCONSIN

Located between two scenic lakes, Madison's Central Business Improvement District (BID) is at the heart of Madison's downtown. It includes the State Street pedestrian mall, which links the Wisconsin State Capitol Square to the University of Wisconsin campus. For shops, galleries, restaurants, museums and cultural destinations, visit this district. 

House on the Rock, near Spring Green, with its labyrintic buildings and the Infinity Room and World's Largest Carousel, is the major tourist attraction in Wisconsin. 

Frank Lloyds former residence in Taliensin and the Hillside Home School, projected by Lloyds are also popular travel sites.

The Circus World Museum in Baraboo is another top travel reference for visitors.

 
BEST TIME TO VISIT MADISON, BARABOO AND SPRING GREEN

If you want to privilege animation, events, festivals and sports, then late spring, summer and early fall are the right times to visit Madison region.

If you privilege the weather, autumn and late spring have the most agreeable temperatures and days, and are excellent times to visit Madison, Spring Green and Baraboo.  

Wisconsin's winters are severe, with occasional snowstorms and intense rainfalls, and Madison's Winters follows this rule. Snowstorms are common in December, January and February. 


WHEN NOT TO GO TO MADISON, BARABOO AND SPRING GREEN

You may want to avoid the chilly, rainy and snowy weather of Wisconsin's winter months. But if you want to enjoy indoor activities and low accommodation rates, then these months are a good bet to travel to Madison, Baraboo and Spring Green. 

For cheap accommodation prices, July and August aren't the best months to visit Madison region as humidity and high temperatures may turn some days of July and August very uncomfortable.

HOTELS AND FLIGHTS TO MADISON, SPRING GREEN AND BARABOO, WISCONSIN

Madison offers a wide range of hotels, mainly in downtown and in its East side. 
Baraboo and Spring Green also offer good hotel deals, mainly in off-peak travel times.

Dane County Regional Airport (MSN) is the main local airport. Milwaukee General Mitchell International Airport (MKE), Wisconsin's main airport, is 160 miles away from Madison and the major alternative airport.
