May is an excellent time to visit Traverse: the weather is usually nice and the thousands of cherry orchards around Traverse are in full bloom, turning the landscape particularly beautiful.
Summer is the most popular season to visit Traverse (accommodation and services prices peak in July and August). Big crowds come during this period, that includes the Traverse National Cherry Festival (1st week of July)
Fall is also popular: the temperatures and weather till the end of October are normally very agreeable, and excellent for outdoor activities.
Winter is severe, and this is the the off-peak season, except for skiers.
