Springfield's Old State Capitol and Springfield's Oak Ridge Cemetery (where Lincoln and his family are buried) are very popular sites.
BEST TIME TO VISIT SPRINGFIELD
If you privilege agreeable and sunny days, early and mid Autumn is the best time to visit Springfield.
Spring, or late Fall and Winter are good times to enjoy indoor activities and benefit from lower accommodation rates and fewer crowds.
Summer is the most popular season to visit Springfield (accommodation and service prices peak in June, July, August and September).
Winter is severe, and this is the off-peak season.
