OAHU ISLAND & WAIKIKI & HONOLULU
Best Time to Visit Oahu, Honolulu and Waikiki
Most of visits to Hawaii are to Oahu Island and Honolulu, or more exactly to Waikiki, just outside Honolulu.
Beach life, nightlife (in Waikiki) and the Hawaiian ambiance are the great attractions. Sea sports, mainly surfing, in the northern Ohau beaches, are also big attractions.
Pearl Harbour - the principal base of the US Pacific, some miles west of Waikiki - is also a local highlight; the visit to the memorial and to the wreck of the battleship USS Arizona is a point of interest for many of the visitors.
