BEST TIME TO TRAVEL TO THE EVERGLADES PARK

You can visit the Park at any time of the year, but the best time to visit the Everglades is undoubtedly winter, after summer floods in the prairies recede.

Summer is a bad season to visit the Everglades: mosquitoes, humidity and afternoon storms make visits uncomfortable and reduce most of the park activities.

As an alternative to winter months you may opt for transitional months such as March, September, October or November. During this period there is also the advantage of hotel rates being lower than in the popular season.

Some additional notes:

- June to October is the hurricane period, but US National Weather Service tracks these storms carefully and gives ample warning if there is any need to evacuate.

- Especially packed days, weeks and weekends: Presidents' Day weekend (February), Easter week, Memorial Day weekend (end of May), the Fourth of July, Labour Day weekend (September), Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's.

WHEN NOT TO GO TO THE EVERGLADES

Avoid the summer season (June to October). The Everglades Park activity is low, and mosquitoes, humidity and afternoon storms make this period a very disadvantageous one.
