WHAT TO VISIT IN DOOR COUNTY

State and county parks offer excellent hiking, biking and sightseeing opportunities. Golf amidst magnificent landscape is also a major attraction. Also with hundreds of galleries, art events and theatres, all of this makes Door County a great place to visit.

Washington Island is the largest of Door County's islands and lies northeast of the peninsula, beyond the straits of Death's Door. Ferries from the mainland make the crossing of Death's Door amidst magnificent views.

Washington Island offers museums, marinas, shops, galleries and even golf. But the main attraction is water-based recreation and bicycling amongst its beautiful rural landscape.

You may want to avoid the winter months, when temperatures reach very low levels and snowstorms strike Door County and Wisconsin.

If you want to bet in low accommodation rates, then July and August aren't the better months to visit the region.
