WHAT TO VISIT AROUND VIRGINIA BEACH?

Norfolk
Industrial port, home of the Chrysler Museum, a top US art center.
Eastern shore
Virginia Atlantic coast, with several small fishing villages, and namely the beautiful town of Chincoteague. This small town is part of the Assateague Island National Seashore, and an interesting wildlife refuge.

BEST TIME TO TRAVEL TO AND VISIT VIRGINIA BEACH

Summer is, obviously, the best period to visit Virginia Beach, if you intend to intensely enjoy beach life. But summer is also very crowded season, and most hotels are booked to full capacity.

In spring crowding is lower, as accommodation prices, but sea water is not suitable to swimming... 

Autumn may be a good period to visit Virginia. There are no more beach crowds, and hotel prices are much lower. The great inconvenient: sea water is much colder and not agreeable to swimming.

WHEN NOT TO GO TO VIRGINIA BEACH

Winter is a bad period to visit Virginia Beach and its surroundings. Many hotels shut down during this period.
