BEST TIME TO VISIT RICHMOND, FREDERICKSBURG AND NORTHERN VIRGINIA
If we only consider the weather issue, then the best time to visit Richmond, Fredericksburg and the Northern Virginia is undoubtedly mid and late spring - May, June – or late-summer and autumn.
Virginia summer is hot and normally humid, and only moderated by ocean breezes, contrasting with winter: winter (or even early spring) is cold and disagreeable.
Virginia's weather is a very changeable one, with moderate precipitation all over the year and snow normally restricted to December and January.
WHEN NOT TO GO TO RICHMOND, FREDERICKSBURG AND NORTHERN VIRGINIA
For some people Virginia's summer should be avoided. Humidity and high temperatures may turn some days of July and August very uncomfortable.
For other people, winter is also a period to avoid, due to the possibility of snow or bitterly cold weather.
