NIAGARA FALLS

Best Time to Visit the Niagara Falls and Buffalo

NiagaraFalls – with around 45 millions gallons of water falling every minute - is a top travel reference of the New York State.

These impressive falls stand right in the border with Canada, 400 miles / 650 Kms from New York (Toronto's airport: 80 miles / 130 Kms; Bufallo's airport: 25 miles / 40 Kms).

Buffalo and Cooperstown (two Erie Canal towns) are two other major tourist references in the zone. Buffalo is an important alternative accommodation base to local Niagara hotels.

BEST TIME TO VISIT THE NIAGARA FALLS

Considering the weather only, then the best time to visit the Niagara Falls would be from mid-spring (May) to the early-fall (September).

But for many people, summer period should be avoided due to the crowds. May, June and September are, in this perspective, the best months.

See the weather table below for Buffalo City. The table is very representative of the climate and weather of the region.
