BEST TIME TO VISIT DETROIT, MICHIGAN

Summer (and late Spring and early Fall) is the most popular season in Michigan and Detroit. If you want to privilege the weather and the city animation, then Summer is the season.

If you just take into account the weather, early and mid Autumn is the best time to visit Detroit and Michigan. Autumn brings with it agreeable and warm temperatures, and very nice days.

Detroit's winters are severe, with occasional snowstorms and intense rainfalls. Snowstorms and ice storms are current in months as December, January and February. But if you mainly want to enjoy Detroit museums or other indoor activities and benefit from lower accommodation rates and fewer crowds then winter isn't exactly a bad time. On the contrary, it can be a very good time (as early Spring or late Fall).

WHEN NOT TO GO TO DETROIT, MICHIGAN

You may want to avoid the winter months, when temperatures attain very low levels, and occasional snowstorms strike Michigan.

If you want to bet in low accommodation rates, then July and August aren't the better months. Besides, humidity and high temperatures may also turn some days of July and August very uncomfortable. See the Detroit Weather Data Map below, for details.
