Downtown Chicago offers anexceptional and unique display of modern architecture. 

The Loop (in the heart of downtown) is the main reference in the city: it's in it that are located various exchange markets. 

It's also inside the Loop and around it that are located the most interesting districts and travel sites: the Chicago River, the Art Institute of Chicago (South Michigan Avenue); the Grant Park, the Gold Coast and the Old Town; the Lincoln Park and Wrigleyville, the Chicago's Children's Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Art (around Michigan Avenue), the Wicker Park and Bucktown, the Oak Park, Chinatown, Little Italy, etc., etc.
 
Chicago has, probably, the best nightlife and the best live music in the USA. Jazz, classic music, dance, theater, nightclubs, gay clubs (Lincoln Park surroundings) abound all over downtown and specially along Halsted Street, Clark Street (The Loop/North Side), Uptown and Lincoln Park. 


BEST TIME TO VISIT CHICAGO

The best time to travel to Chicago is June, Summer and Fall, but all depends on what you want and value most.

In the summer months, Chicago offers a wide set of events and lots of animation and outdoor activities, but these months have extremely hot days and big crowds and higher accommodation rates.

Autumn months (September–November) may be preferable (first snows come normally just in December). They are usually sunny and mild, and the crowds and lines (students are back in school) are smaller at the major travel sites. 

Spring weather is very unpredictable (more unpredictable than the very changeable and rather unpredictable weather of other seasons) but can be a good period if you are looking for cheap accommodation and indoor visits.

Winter months may also be a good option for those who are betting on indoor visits and activities. Snow is common, and the winter weather is very rainy, but there are no big crowds on attractions and the accommodation prices are lower. 


WHEN NOT TO GO TO CHICAGO

You may want to avoid the winter months, when temperatures attain very low levels and snowstorms strike the region. But if you want to bet on low accommodation rates and indoor visits, then Winter and transitional months aren't exactly bad months.
