The Monument Valley - close to the Arizona-Utah state
border - allows the most magnificent sceneries of the American
west. Many American movies about the West were filmed here.
The Canyon de Chelly National Monument is another major
reference in the Arizona Indian Country.
For those interested in the pre-columbian civilization, the
Mesas region - home of the Hopi people - may also be an
interesting
place:
the Third Mesa is one of the oldest continually inhabited places
in North America.

The best time to explore this part of Arizona is between March and May, or during mid
and late
Fall. During these periods
temperatures are usually mild and the rain scarce.
In
April to May period you may catch the cacti and other
desert plants in bloom.

Summer can be a very hot season
in these mostly desert regions.
